
Rewarding ceremony of VII International Elbrus Race was held on Azau yesterday.
The president of Kabardino-Balkaria Mountaineering Federation Abdul Khalim Elmezov awarded diplomas and prizes from Sport Ministry of the Republic. The prizers are awarded by medals and prizes from the general sponsor NPF BASK and Tramontana Outdoor shop.


The first who reached the top, was Anton Proshenko (Omsk). His result was 2 HRS 28 min 2 sec. He set the new record on International Elbrus Race. The previous record belonged to Andrew Puchinin (Almaty) - 2 HRS 34 min 33 sec.

Next on the top was Aggey Skopin (Almaty, Kazakhstan). His result was 2 hrs 31 min 35 sec.

The third on the top and the Winner on the Extreme route became Roman Gubanov! his result was 4 HRS 31 min 11 sec

The 4th on the top was Rafael Ramazanov (from Ossetia), he run Classic route. His result was 3 HRS 31 min. Let's remember his mane - maybe, he'll be the winner in the future Elbrus Races...

Then the weather turned extremely bad. Too strong wind... The marshals who were on duty on the top, desided to close the finish there, so the rest athletes finished on the col or between the top and the col. The height, reached by the runners, was fixed visual by the marshals.
Olga Miheenko became the Winner among the women, the second was Tatjana Krivosheeva, the third - Olga Rzhavskaya.



The fourth was Chineese lady (from Sweden) Ven Mey.
All members descended to the Barrels.
BTW, some of marshals and the runners rescued the climber, who they found on the route between the top and the col. He was Fillipine climber, and he needed the help.
